Abstract
Dutch, 20th century, male. Born 1938, in Wijlre. Painter. Figure compositions. Jan Kamps went to Africa as a Catholic priest, but later left the church to become a social worker and start a family. In 1970, he found a new vocation as a painter and spent the rest of his life in Holland. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon International d'Art Naïf. He often chose to illustrate Biblical subjects. The large numbers of people in his compositions have an almost hallucinatory effect....
