Abstract
Korean, 20th – 21st century, female. Active in France. Born 1967, in Seoul. Installation artist, photographer. Koo Jeong-a was born in South Korea but settled in France when she was 23. In 2000 she was a member of the Académie de France in Rome. Koo creates installations that range from a clutter of everyday objects such as boxes or chairs to minimalist architectural structures made of white powder. Whichever vocabulary she chooses she uses it methodically, poetically, displaying a gently compulsive strain.
