Irish, 19th century, male. Born 28 January 1828, in Blackwell Lodge (County Kilherny); died 13 December 1891, in London. Painter, pastellist. Mythological subjects, portraits. William Gorman Wills began his studies at the Hibernian Academy and then went to London and established himself successfully there as a painter of portraits. He was also an acclaimed dramatist. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London. He painted several members of the British Royal Family, and pastels were particularly appreciated....
