Abstract
German, 19th – 20th century, male. Born 27 December 1866, in Erbach; died perhaps in 1949. Painter, engraver. Figures, landscapes, seascapes, waterscapes. Otto Heinrich Engel's output has definite similarities with that of Erich Otto Engel. From 1886 to 1890 he studied under Otto Brausewetter and Paul Meyerheim at the art academy in Berlin. In 1890 and 1891 he was active in Karlsruhe and from 1891 to 1892 he was a pupil of Paul Hoecker at the academy in Munich. He went to Italy to study, subsequently settling in Berlin....
