Abstract
The Battle of Frigidus River was a one‐off civil war confrontation fought on September 5–6, 394 ce, which saw Theodosius I defeat the forces of the western usurper Eugenius under the command of Arbogast, the western magister militum, due to the intervention of a local meteorological phenomenon.
