Abstract
This chapter uses clinical vignettes and multiple-choice questions to explore core and advanced principles of resuscitative ultrasound. The cases assess image acquisition pearls and pitfalls, image interpretation, false positive and negative findings, and integration into patient management and incorporate videos and images. Clinical vignettes include critically ill patients presenting with undifferentiated symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, cardiac arrest, or hypotension. Each case includes a learning objective, a question, and detailed explanations for correct and incorrect answer choices, incorporating landmark studies as well as the latest literature that clinical sonographers will find of interest. Relevant references are also provided for each case.
