Abstract
Pleural involvement in multiple myeloma is a rare condition that is frequently associated with a poor prognosis. The diagnostic strategy includes pleural fluid cytology and electrophoresis or histologic confirmation with pleural biopsy. Management involves treatment of multiple myeloma and relief of respiratory symptoms with drainage of pleural fluid or pleurodesis.
