Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how research on the Korean language education curriculum in foreign universities has been conducted and to explore future research directions. To achieve this, 31 research papers were extracted and analyzed using a classification framework based on previous studies. The research in this field had a minimal increase until 2013 but has shown a steady growth since 2015, indicating an expansion of research on Korean language education curriculum from domestic to international contexts. Most studies focused on analyzing the curriculum, while studies on design and comparison were relatively limited. Chinese research on the curriculum was the most prominent, often covering the entire curriculum, while studies focusing on specific functions or subjects were lacking. In terms of research methods, descriptive analysis was predominantly used, and the application of diverse research methods was found to be limited.
