본 연구의 목적은 1983년부터 2022년 10월까지 「한국협동조합연구」에 게재된 논문을 비교 분석하고, 그동안의 변화 흐름을 파악하는 것이다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 「한국협동조합연구」를 통해 한국의 협동조합에 관한 연구 동향을 파악하였다. 또한 협동조합과 관련된 여러 학술지와의 비교를 통해 「한국협동조합연구」의 성취와 도전과제를 도출하여, 학술지의 향후 발전 방향과 방안을 제시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 「한국협동조합연구」는 지난 40년간 양적 그리고 질적으로 성장했다. 즉, 발간 횟수와 게재논문, 그리고 인용 횟수와 영향력지수(Impact Factor) 등이 모두 증가했다. 둘째, 학회지의 영향력 지수 등 인용통계를 보면 학회지의 영향력이 커지고 있다. 셋째, 「한국협동조합연구」에 게재된 논문의 연구주제가 다양하게 변했다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 「한국협동조합연구」의 세 가지 발전 방향을 제시한다. 첫째, 「한국협동조합연구」는 다학제적(multi-disciplinary)이고 총체적(holistic)으로 협동조합을 연구하는 학술지가 되어야 한다. 둘째, 영향력이 큰 협동조합 연구 학술지가 되어야 한다. 셋째, 글로벌 연구자들이 인정하는 협동조합 학술지가 되어야 한다.
This study examines publication patterns in the Korean Journal of Cooperative Studies, a peer-reviewed academic journal founded in 1983 by the Korean Society for Cooperative Studies. The study provides a longitudinal overview of the Korean Journal of Cooperative Studies, contributing to a broader discussion of the Journal’s role in advancing the scholarship of Cooperative Studies in Korea. 549 articles published in the Journal from 1983 to October 2022 were analyzed for authorship, research method, article content, impact factor, centrality, and immediacy index of KCI (Korea Citation Index). The research findings are as follows: First, the Korean Journal of Cooperative Studies has grown quantitatively and qualitatively over the past 40 years. In other words, the number of publications, published papers, citations, and impact factor increased. Second, looking at the citation information of the Journal, the influence of the Journal is growing. Third, the research topics of papers published in the Korean Journal of Cooperative Studies have changed in various topics. Meanwhile, the Journal is regarded as highly selective and accepts high-quality articles, obtaining the highest impact factor among the agricultural economics journals published in Korea. It is imperative to expand and broaden the research base to advance the scholarship of Cooperative Studies in Korea.
