Abstract
The assessment of labor progress using intrapartum ultrasound provides a more objective and accurate evaluation compared to traditional methods such as pelvic examination. Additionally, it has the potential to reduce discomfort experienced by pregnant women. Among these methods, fetal head position can be evaluated through the suprapubic approach, observing specific landmarks for assessment. Additionally, fetal head station, which is directly related to fetal descent, can be assessed using the suprapubic and transperineal methods. Various modalities can be utilized for evaluation, including head-perineum distance (HPD), head-symphysis distance (HSD), head progression distance (HPD), angle of progression (AOP), head direction (HD), head rotation (HR), midline angle (MLA), and intrapartum translabial ultrasound (ITU) station. Through the utilization of these ultrasound measurements, it is feasible to predict the time to delivery and effectively apply them in making informed decisions regarding operative obstetric interventions.
