Abstract
Objectives: This study was attempted to identify factors influencing depression in binge drinking women. Methods: This study is a secondary analysis study using data from the 2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. There were a total of 1,049 subjects, and variables consisted of population, sociological factors, physical factors, and psychological factors.Using the IBM SPSS 25.0 program, this study assigned and analyzed variable weights presented by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with significance determined at 0.05. In this study, complex sample analyses were performed by assigning weights (the primary sampling unit (PSU), stratification (kstrata), and weight variables) as recommended by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Results: Significant differences were found in age, weight control, smoking, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia depending on the degree of binge drinking.Compared to women over 60, depression was 4.68 times higher in women under 40, and as health-related quality of life increased, depression decreased 26.71 times. Depression was found to be 1.93 times lower among women who subjectively perceived their health as healthy compared to women who perceived their health as unhealthy, and depression was found to be 3.10 times higher among women who were under a lot of stress compared to women who were under less stress. Conclusions: When intervening to control binge drinking among binge drinkers, factors affecting binge drinking must be identified and reflected.
