우리는 점점 자동화가 만연한 사회로 진입하고 있다. 우리의 노동과정과 일상생활에서 자동화된 장치들과의 결합은 우리를 포스트휴먼의 조건으로 이끈다. 초기 산업자본주의 시기부터 지금의 4차 산업혁명이라 칭해지는 시기에 이르기까지 자동화는 노동 생산성을 높이는 것으로 이해되어 왔다. 하지만 지금의 상황에서는 데이터-알고리즘-플랫폼이 결합된 자동화의 시스템 내에서 인간 노동 자체가 갈수록 부수적이거나 비가시적이 되면서 자동화의 이면으로 숨겨지는 경향이 있다. 인간은 오히려 자동화된 시스템의 작동 방식에 맞추어 스스로를 변화시켜 나가도록 강제되는 셈이다. 그런 점에서 자동화 시대에 자동화되는 것은 인간 자신이 아닐까 하는 포스트휴먼적 질문을 던진다.
We are entering an increasingly automated society. By joining ourselves with automated devices in work processes, we and our daily lives enter the posthuman condition. From the early industrial capitalist period to the current period called the Fourth Industrial Revolution, automation has been understood to increase labor productivity. However, in the current situation, human labor itself tends to be hidden behind automation as it becomes increasingly incidental or non-visible within a system of data-algorithm-platform automation. Hence, humans are forced to change themselves according to the way the automated system works. In this regard, the posthuman question which must be asked is whether the human being is the one who is automated in the era of automation.
