본 연구는 농촌지역 주민자치센터의 서비스 품질에 대한 인식과 공동체 의식의 관계를 분석하고 이론적·정책적 함의를 제시하고 있다. 이를 위해 농촌지역인 K군의 주민자치센터 이용주민을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 주민자치센터의 서비스 품질 차원과 공동체 의식의 구조적 관계에 관한 가설을 검증하였다. 가설 검증 결과, 주민자치센터의 물리적 환경 품질과 과정 품질은 결과 품질에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 주민자치센터의 결과 품질은 공동체 의식에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타난 반면, 물리적 환경 품질과 과정 품질이 공동체 의식에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 주민자치센터의 과정 품질은 공동체 의식에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않지만 결과 품질을 매개로 공동체 의식에 간접적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구는 농촌지역 주민자치센터 공동체 의식 향상을 위한 서비스 품질 개선에 관한 이론적·정책적 함의를 제시하였다.
The purposes of this study are to analyze the effects of service quality on the sense of community in rural region and to discuss the implications. We conducted a survey to residents who were using the Community Center in K-gun. The results show that physical environment and process quality have positive effects on the outcome quality. The outcome quality has a positive effect on the sense of community, but physical environment and process quality are not statistically significant with the sense of community. We found that the process quality of the community center did not have a direct effect on the sense of community, but it had an indirect effect on the sense of community through the outcome quality. Based on the results, this study suggested the theoretical and implications to enhance the service quality for improving residents’ sense of community.
