본 연구는 내현적 자기애의 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 미치는 경로를 구체적으로 탐색하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 내현적 자기애가 자기자비와 거부민감성을 순차적으로 경유하여 대인관계 유능성에 미치는 간접효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 전국에 거주하는 일반성인 270명의 자료를 SPSS 22.0 프로그램 및 SPSS Macro Process를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 첫째 내현적 자기애, 자기자비, 거부민감성, 대인관계 유능성의 각 변인들 간에 유의한 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 대인관계 유능성의 관계를 자기자비가 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 대인관계 유능성 간의 관계를 거부민감성이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 내현적 자기애가 자기자비와 거부민감성을 순차적으로 경유하여 대인관계 유능성에 미치는 이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 종합적인 논의와 함께 후속 연구에 대하여 제언을 하였다.
This study tried to examine the path through which covert narcissism affects interpersonal competence. For this purpose, it was attempted to verify the indirect effect of covert narcissism on interpersonal competence by sequentially passing through self-compassion and rejection sensitivity. As a result of analyzing the data of 270 general adults residing nationwide using the SPSS 22.0 program and the SPSS Macro Process, first, significant correlations were found among the variables of covert narcissism, self-compassion, rejection sensitivity, and interpersonal competence. Second, self-compassion mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and interpersonal competence. Third, rejection sensitivity mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and interpersonal competence. Fourth, sequential mediating effect of covert narcissism on interpersonal competence by sequentially passing through self-compassion and rejection sensitivity was found to be significant. Based on the results, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.
