Abstract
이 글에서는 1920~30년대 식민지 조선의 시공간적 맥락에서 한국 여성 최초인 나혜석의 구미여행기에 대한 문화지리적 접근을 시도한다. 당대의 공간적 실천의 산물이자 물질적 결과로서 나혜석의 구미여행기를 ‘여행하기’와 ‘여행에 대한 글쓰기/그리기’의 측면에서 분석했다. 먼저, 나혜석의 구미여행은 새로운 해외여행인 만유였으며, 시베리아 횡단열차를 통해 유럽까지 간 최초의 여행이었고, 여행의 목적지는 ‘꽃의 도시, 파리’로 재현되었다. 한편 작가이자 화가였던 나혜석의 여행기는 기행문과 풍경화라는 당대의 새로운 글쓰기·그리기 형식을 배경으로 탄생했다. 특히 이 연구에서는 나혜석의 여행기에 드러나는 다중적 위치성을 검토하고, 해외여행을 통해 성찰된 그녀의 여성주의적 정체성이 여행 후 어떻게 좌절하였는지 확인했다.
This study examined the first Western Travel Writing by Na Hye-Seok in 1920-30s colonial Choson. As a result of spatial and material practices, Na’s Western Travel Writing is understandable that travelling and writing/painting about travel. Her travelling was a new type of overseas tourism, the first trip to the Europe by Trans-Siberian Railroad, and the destination was represented as ‘Paris, Capital of Flowers’. And her travel writing/painting came into the world owe to new types of writing/painting in those days. In particular, this study examined Na’s multiple positionalities and how feminist identity was frustrated after travelling.
