본 연구는 청소년의회의 설치 및 운영이 확대되고 있는 시점에서 지방자치단체에서 설립한 청소년의회를 중심으로 청소년의회 참여경험이 청소년의 공동체의식에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 서울시와 경기도에서 운영중인 어린이ㆍ청소년의회에 참여하고 있는 청소년의원 137명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 상관분석, t-test와 일원분산분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 활용하였다. 본 연구결과는 첫째, 청소년의 연령이 높을수록 청소년의회 참여기간이 길었으며, 높은 수준의 부모관계를 형성한 청소년이 높은 공동체의식을 보였다. 둘째, 성별, 청소년의회 참여정도, 청소년의회 참여만족도가 공동체의식에 영향을 미쳤지만 청소년의회 참여기간, 월 참여횟수, 의사결정권한은 공동체의식에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 마지막으로 공동체의식의 하위영역별 결과에서 청소년의회 참여정도가 적극적인 청소년, 청소년의회 참여만족도가 높은 청소년일수록 구성원의식, 상호영향의식, 정서적 연계, 공익추구적 태도가 높았다. 또한 청소년의회 참여만족도가 높은 청소년일수록 사회적 참여의식이 높았다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 참여와 권리를 확대할 수 있는 각 지방자치단체의 청소년의회의 활성화 방안을 제시하였다.
This study analyzed the effects of youth council participation experience on sense of community, focusing on youth councils established by local governments at a time when the establishment and operation of youth councils is expanding. An online survey was conducted on 137 youth council's participation in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed for correlation analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analysis. First, Older youth showed a long period of youth council participation, and youth who had a high level of parental relationships showed high sense of community. Second, while gender, youth council participation and satisfaction with youth council participation affected the sense of community, the duration of youth council participation, the number of monthly participations, and decision-making authority did not affect the sense of community. Finally, youth with active participation, and youth with higher satisfaction with youth council participation had higher membership consciousness, mutual influence consciousness, emotional connection, and public interest seeking attitude. Also, youth with higher satisfaction level of participation in the youth council were more likely to be conscious of social participation. Based on these findings, a plan to revitalize the youth councils by local governments was suggested to expand the participation and rights of youth.
