Abstract
Seoul, which has a history of more than 2,000 years, has attracted attention as the capital of ancient society, Hanseong Baekje, Hanyang during the Joseon Dynasty, and today’s capital. Also during the Goryeo Dynasty, which was a medieval society, the Seoul area was operated as one of the three southern provinces. Goryeo operated a local system connecting the capital city of Gaegyeong with the local bankruptcy, which is commonly described as ‘three-viewed view’. However, there were only two periods during the pre-Goryeo period in which Namgyeong was considered as the second-largest area of the capital city of Gaegyeong. The first is the period from Munjong to Sukjongdae. A palace was built in Namgyeong at Munjongdae, and Namgyeong’s status was once elevated at Sukjongdae as he emerged as a candidate for a new township. After a long time, Namgyeong was re-emerged as the Cheondo to Namgyeong was mentioned again at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty, but the Cheondo at this time was also only an attempt. However, the capital of Joseon was designated as the capital of Joseon, and it was again highlighted in the history. In this process, the role of Namkyung as a historical stage during the Goryeo Dynasty was quite limited.
