The objective of this research is to examine the modality of femininity expressed through use of ‘invisible makeup,’ as an attempt to achieve a refined appearance, which is related to the emerging global trend of ‘modest fashion.’ The research methodology involved the use of a qualitative approach, combining case studies identified through literature reviews and interviews. The advantage of relying on previous research and literature-based information and knowledge is that it can be applied with confidence to establish the objective of the research. The results were as follows: In the 21st century, the preference for ‘modest fashion’ among females is driven by freedom of choice. The true significance lies in the fact that makeup, as both a means for creation of a more attractive image and a source of enjoyment, naturally accompanies coverage of the body through fashion. ‘Invisible makeup’ is not only essential for maintaining a healthy appearance but is also connected with a personal outlet for self-expression. In addition, women practice the use of ‘invisible makeup’ as an attempt to harmonize with various modalities of femininity and for self-expression while embracing their own beauty.
