Abstract
In this paper, a method for frequency control is proposed by applying a passive element and a varactor diode to a Ω-shaped defect microstrip structure resonator (DMSR). The Ω-shaped DMSR is a resonator that can resonate without an additional circuit by giving a Ω-shaped defect to the microstrip line, and the resonant frequency is determined by the length of the main defect structure. In this paper, a basic Ω-shaped DMSR with a resonant frequency of 2.45 GHz and a DMSR equipped with a varactor diode and a passive element on the defect structure were designed and implemented. It was confirmed through experiment that the resonance frequency of the Ω-shaped DMSR, which can control the frequency, changes by about 50 MHz when the magnitude of the reverse bias is changed by 0.5V.
