Abstract
A Study on Occupational Stress and its coping ways of Teachers in the school for the blind in China Written by: Zhao, Lihui Department of Special Education Graduate school of Woosuk University Directed by: Prof. Chung, Jin-Ja Ph.D. The purpose of this study was to measure the occupational stress and its coping ways of teachers in the school for the blind in China. For this study, the researcher sampled 153 teachers from school for the blind in China. And, the tested their occupation stress levels by Stress Profile for Teachers(SPT). The results of the present study were as follows: First, in the schools for the blind in China, teachers have no significant difference in occupation stress follow the gender. But, the female teachers mainly suffered more stress than male teachers form the three kinds of stress factors: student's behavior, time management, and the internal dilemma of teacher themselves. And the male teachers suffer more stress than female teachers in the administrators, the relationship of parents and teachers. Follow the marriage situation, unmarried teachers can suffer more stress than married teachers. Also, in the relationship of parents and teachers and the internal dilemma of teacher themselves, unmarried teachers can suffer more stress than married teachers. Follow the age, teachers of 21-25, 31-35, 36-40, 41-53 suffer more stress, and teachers of 21-25 have more stress in the student's behavior, the relationship of parents and teachers and the internal dilemma of teacher themselves. In the stress factors of administrators and time management, 31-35's teachers have more stress, and teachers of 36-40 suffered more stress in the relationship of parents and teachers. Follow the teaching experience, there is no significant difference, but in the administrators of teachers with teaching experience of above 15years-long. 11-15years-long, less 5years-long, and 5-10years-long have more stress. Second, in the ways of coping, female teachers were more positive than male teachers on the way to solve the problem. But in the issue has dominated the countermeasures, mood, proper support, social issues, and thinking, male teachers were more positive than female teachers on the way to solve the problem. In addition, according to the marriage, married teachers used more than not unmarried teachers on phase, cope with the pressure method, issue has dominated the countermeasures, emotional ease type, thinking. to use. But on social pursuit, there were no differences. According to age, 36-40 aged teachers used more in the center of the problems the methods, the mood of the method of confrontation, and easing 41-53 aged teachers used more in social support, 31-35 aged teachers used more in the thought, and desire. Also, the way to deal with the teachers' position stress which from education experience were: 5-10 years of school age teachers used problem centered methods, more than 15 years of school age teachers used emotional ease method, social support method and thinking methods.
