China has a long history, thousands of years of accumulation of excellent traditional culture is our deepest cultural soft power. As one of the outstanding traditional Chinese culture, the national martial arts has become the symbol representative of the Chinese nation. Nowadays, the stage performance of martial arts is a social activity in the form of performance, which is the main content of martial arts culture. The beginning of stage performance of martial arts can be traced back to primitive society and has close relations with religious sacrifice, totem worship, military war, etc. With the development of society, martial arts stage performance gradually evolves and plays an important role in the inheritance of culture.This paper analyzes the historical evolution process of martial arts stage performance and the mission of contemporary martial arts stage performance, adhering to the core elements of martial arts stage performance. The main findings are as follows: 1. As an important carrier and dissemination mode of martial arts culture, the stage performance of martial arts bears the historical mission of inheriting excellent martial arts culture and carrying forward national spirit.2.
