한‧중 식물 이름 대조 연구 / The Contrastive Study of Plant Name in Korean and Chinese

Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation is studying the common points and differences of plant name’s word types and named types in Korean and Chinese. The plants are easily found around, and also closely related to humans’ life and history. The names of plant have a long history and are formed regular terms already. Geographical locations of Korea and China are neighborhood and due to long years of cultural exchanges between the two nations, there are many similarities in living habits and customs. So comparison and analysis of the plant names in Korean and Chinese play important roles on realizing the similarities and differences of Korean and Chinese plant name’s terms and the characteristic of named method, and also the attitude of how Korean and Chinese recognize objects and lexicalize them. In the second part, firstly the korean plants names can be divided into Native word, Sino-Korean Word, Loanword, Hybrid Word; Chinese plants names are divided into Native word, Loanword, Hybrid Word. On this basis, word’s proportion of every type will be analyzed. And next, the native plants names and the exotic plants names will be set to the analysis objects, also base on the analysis of word’s proportion of every type, we can compare the words type’s characteristic of Korean and Chinese between native plants names and the exotic plants names. In the third part, the naming types of Korean and Chinese plant names can be divided into 7 types. First, the [time] that shows the bloom time or the ripe time. Second, the [place] that shows the terrain of habitat or the main habitat. Third, the [utility] that shows the plant can be used for medicine or can be used for food. Forth, the [shape] that shows the whole shape of the plant, or only the shape of flower, or only the shape of leaf, or even the shape of the other parts. Fifth, the [colour] that shows the whole colour of the plant, or only the colour of flower, or only the colour of leaf, or even the colour of the other parts. Sixth, the [quality] that shows wild or fine or even other qualities of the plant. Seventh, the [taste·smell] for the plant. On this basis we can compare the naming type’s characteristic in Korean and Chinese of plants names. In the fourth part, we chose 910 same plant’s names and divide these names by the classification method from the third part. Then we can compare each type which is occupied between Korean plant names and Chinese plant names. And we will divide these Korean plant names and Chinese plant names into two parts, the names are named in the same method and the other names are named in the different method.
