This study analyses the agricultural theme parks through focusing on introduced facilities and preference of facilities in Korea and China. Study areas were selected to make the comparative analysis of facilities, were four agricultural theme parks under construction in Korea, and four agricultural theme parks have been built in China. In the comparison analysis, the purpose of this study can be classified as two. The first purpose of this study was to respectively evaluate the similarity and the difference of introduced facilities for agricultural theme parks in both counties. For the similarity of facilities, four kinds of facilities were extremely introduced in agricultural theme parks in Korea and China, namely, theme exhibition experience facilities, local products shop, square and playground. For the difference of facilities, some facilities were greatly introduced into Chinese parks, but did not be applied in agricultural theme parks in Korea, such as, skating rink, tennis court, self-denial exercise field, campsite, fishing center, accommodations, recreational forest, general restaurant, sightseeing deck, vines tunnel, lake, waterwheels, farming experience facilities. However, although some facilities were greatly guided into Korean parks, the following facilities were not led in Chinese agricultural theme parks, for instance, research facilities, brook, pub, herb garden, meditation garden, medicinal herb garden, theme theatre, spa center, multipurpose sports field and mini soccer field.Secondly, a total of 600 valid questionnaires(each 300 in Korea and China) were distributed in Jeollabuk-do(Korea) and Jiangsu Province(China) during the period from April 30th to May 13th. Different socio-demographic characteristics (income, gender, resident form, age) of all respondents were investigated to identify whether significant differences of preference on the facilities between Korean and Chinese. The findings can be seen as the following. For the females, the following facilities were mostly preferred by Korean respondents, namely, theme garden, recreational forest and arboretum, but some facilities were mostly favored by Chinese respondents, such as, local products planting garden, healing forest and vines tunnel. Although Korean male respondents liked trail and lake most, recreational forest and brook were preferred by Chinese respondents. For respondents of apartment, trail and arboretum were mostly favored by Korean, and yet, Chinese preferred healing forest and vines tunnel than other facilities. Recreational forest and ecological pond were greatly preferred by Korean of house, but healing forest and brook were mostly favored by Chinese. For respondents at aged 10-29yr, Korean liked café-tea house, trail and arboretum most, however, local products restaurant, herb garden and vines tunnel were greatly favored by Chinese with the same age. Although theme garden, recreational forest and lake were preferred by Korean respondents at aged 30-49yr, Chinese favored local products planting garden, healing forest and vines tunnel most. In the case of respondents at aged 50yr and over, farming experience facilities, recreational forest and ecological pond were mostly favored by Korean, yet, theme garden, local products planting garden, healing forest and brook were mostly favored by Chinese. For respondents with less than 1 million incomes, compared that Korean respondents preferred farm experience facilities, recreational forest, arboretum and ecological pond more than other facilities, local products planting garden, healthy therapy room and brook were extremely favored by Chinese. Korean with 1-3 million won liked recreational forest, lake and ecological pond most, but Chinese respondents preferred healing forest, brook and vines tunnel most. Korean respondents with more than 3 million won preferred ecological observation facilities, recreational forest and arboretum more than other facilities, local products planting garden, healing forest, barbecue site and vines tunnel were favored by Chinese.Without consideration of socio-demographic characteristics of respondents, in the comparison analysis of preference in Korea and China, Korean respondents preferred farming experience facilities, observatory, recreational forest, arboretum and mini soccer field more than other facilities, local products planting garden, greenhouse, healing forest, self-denial exercise field and brook were extremely favored by Chinese. Finally, based on these findings, this study as the basic theory provides recommendations for optimizing the facilities in agricultural theme parks in both countries. Theme garden, local products restaurant and ecological pond as the most favored facilities were greatly introduced in agricultural theme parks in Korea. However, eight kinds of facilities did not be sufficient used.
