비즈니스 밈의 생존력 시뮬레이션 모델에 관한 실증적 연구 / An Empirical Study of Simulation Model for Business Meme Viability Analysis

Abstract
최근 인터넷 비즈니스에서 나타나는 현상을 전통적 경제이론으로 설명하는데 어려움을 겪으면서 비즈니스 세계를 복잡계 또는 생태계로 간주하는 복잡계 경제이론이 새롭게 각광받고 있다. 특히 비즈니스 생태계에서 일어나는 다양한 현상을 계산모델로 표현하여 분석하려는 다양한 연구가 시도되고 있다. 이에 따라 비즈니스 생태계를 계산모델로 표현 하는 데 많은 진전이 있었지만 그럼에도 불구하고 이를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션이라는 실증적 방법으로 접근한 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 이 연구에서는 비즈니스 성과를 결정하는 유전자적 성격의 근원을 비즈니스 밈이라고 정의하며 그 밈이 비즈니스 생태계에서 경쟁을 거쳐 진화하는 계산 모델을 제시하고 그 진화현상을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 실증함으로써 비즈니스 세계도 자연생태계의 진화원리에 따른다는 것을 밝힌다. 비즈니스 밈을 이진수 형태로 정의하기 위해 비즈니스 활동을 밈의 시각과 자원기반의 시각에서 분석했으며, 비즈니스 생태계와 진화현상을 표현하기 위해 시스템 다이내믹스 기법과 유전 알고리즘을 활용했다. 이 연구결과는 복잡한 비즈니스 세계의 다이내믹스를 좀 더 깊이 이해하고 전통적 경제이론으로는 설명하기 어려운 다양한 현상과 문제를 해결하는데 크게 기여할 수 있다고 본다. 특히 자연생태계에서 DNA를 발견한 것이 생명체의 근본적인 매커니즘을 이해하는 출발점이 된 것처럼 비즈니스 밈이라는 개념 역시 비즈니스의 본질을 밝히는 새로운 출발점이 될 수 있다고 본다.
In recent days, complexity economics treating the business world as a complexity system or ecosystem has come into the spotlight according to the rising difficulties in explaining phenomena of internet businesses with traditional economics theory. To keep up with the pace, researchers are trying to explain various phenomena of the business ecosystem by means of computation. Although there are lots of researches on the business ecosystem it isn't easy to find out research results of applying a computer simulation approach, which is an empirical approach, to understanding the businesses ecosystem. In this doctoral dissertation, a new terminology named by business memes is introduced. Business memes which are similar to genes of creatures represent the causing factors of business outcomes. The represented computer simulation model describes business memes and evolutions of the memes in the process of competition, selection, and reproduction, hence confirms the fact that the business world also follows the evolutionary mechanism of biological ecosystem. To represent the business memes in the form of binary digits, the Meme theory and Resource Based View(RBV) are applied, and the business environment and evolution mechanisms are described by System Dynamics and Genetic Algorithm respectively. The research results could be applied to understanding the dynamics of business ecosystem more deeply, and to solving various economic problems which is not well explained with traditional economics theory. Especially, the research result could become a stepping stone to founding out the origin of business as the discovery of DNA has done in biological ecosystem.
