Synthesis of Poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene) as a Binder for Ag Nanowire-based Transparent Electrode Film

Abstract
The composite films of PEDOT:PSS/silver nanowires (AgNWs) already were used for high conductivity. However, the surface resistivity of composite films was changed depending on aging time at 85°C. This study suggested that advanced conductive polymer for replacing PEDOT:PSS was synthesized. A template agent which was sulfated-carboxymethyl cellulose (SCMC) with the tailored amount of sulfate groups was prepared for poly (3, 4 ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT).SCMC and PEDOT:SCMC were characterized from FT-IR spectra. The amount of polarons generated by doping PEDOT:SCMC was confirmed by UV-Vis spectra. PEDOT:SCMC was applied as a binder for composite films of PEDOT:SCMC/AgNWs. In this work, we achieved conductive composite films with low surface resistivity and high total transmittance. In addition, the change of surface resistivity of composite films was minimized depending on aging time at 85°C.
