Abstract
This paper deals with the performance analysis of high-efficient automated manual transmission using ADAMS software. It is difficult to design and analyze the shifting performance of the newly developed powertrain elements in practice. In order to resolve this problem, this paper describes the virtual design of a high-efficient automated manual transmission(AMT) using ADAMS software, which can simulate and analyze dynamic mechanical systems. Using ADAMS software, the main components and structures of the AMT are virtually designed and validated prior to the hardware implementation. And the various operating and driving conditions of the AMT have been simulated and analyzed in virtual test environment to enhance its feasibility and usefulness. The AMT considered in this paper is the novel design using conventional manual transmission components especially uses the friction clutch in a different way from common manual transmissions. The powertrain structure in this paper is newly proposed and designed using a numerical and dynamic results from ADAMS simulation. The simulation results are verified with the experiments of the powertrain testbench which is prototyped with two electric motors, motor driver, controller and respective signal interface.
