세계화 시대에 세계 시민으로서의 자세가 확립되지 않고서는 국제무대에 설 수 없다. 그러므로 국가 차원의 교육과정은 건전한 인성과 창의성을 가진 사람을 기르는데 교육의 목표를 두고 있다. 인간을 교육한다는 것은 다양한 교육활동을 통하여 인간을 ‘사람다운 사람’으로 만든다는 것이 일반적인 의미이다. 이에 따라 우리의 전통적인 교육관에서 교육은 인간의 도리를 가르치는 것으로 그 의미가 규정되어 왔다. 21세기 급변하는 세계화와 다원화의 물결 앞에서 우리 교육도 새로운 교육과정을 끊임없이 연구하고 발전시키며 시대가 요구하는 인간상을 만들기 위해 노력하고 있다. 하지만 능력있고 창의력을 갖춘 시대가 요구하는 합리적이고 유능한 존재로 교육하는 것은 성과를 보이고 있는 것에 비해 실제적인 교육현장에서의 인성교육의 결과는 지지부진한 상태이다. 한 사람의 인성은 소속된 사회의 면면에 흐르는 철학에 의해 영향을 받는다. 철학은 역사를 통해 쌓아온 사상적인 힘이기에 철학교육이 인성교육과 밀접한 관계가 있으며 중요한 역할을 할 것이라고 생각한다. 그래서 인성교육에 있어서 철학교육의 역할을 고찰해 보는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 인성교육을 위해서 우선적으로 인성에 대한 개념을 먼저 올바로 정립해야 할 필요성이 있기에 먼저 서양 전통 철학적 관점에서의 인성교육에 대한 이론을 중심으로 고찰을 통해 인성과 인성교육에 대한 개념을 정리하고, 이어서 칸트의 도덕철학을 중심으로 인성교육의 본질적이며 실천적인 연구를 통해서, 학문적-철학적 인간과 인성을 탐구하여 서로를 연결하여 인성교육에 있어서 철학교육의 역할을 제시하는 문헌 연구 방법을 주로 본 연구를 하고자 한다.
No one takes a part in the international arena without the virtues of world citizen in the age of globaliztion. Therefore, the curriculum at national level aims to cultivate students' healthy personalities and creativities. To educate a person is to make him or her into a decent human being through various education activities. The Korean traditional view on education has explained it as bringing a person to reason. Our education has made continued efforts to build human characters that meet the requirements of the age by making constant efforts to study and develop new curriculums in the rapidly changing globalization and multiplication trends of the 21st century. However, the results of personality education in the actual field reflect slow progress while other education areas achieve their goals which seek to cultivate students as rational and competent existences. The personality of a person is affected by the philosophy reflected in every aspect of the society. Since the philosophy is a ideological power accumulated by the history, the philosophy education is closely related to the personality education and takes a very important role in it. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of philosophy education in the personality education. It is necessary to establish a correct concept of personality before studying the role of philosophy education. First, the concept of personality and personality education were identified through the study on the personality education in the western traditional perspectives. This study also suggests the role of philosophy education in the personality education by exploring the academic and philosophical human being and personality through the intrinsic and practical study with Kant's moral philosophy.
