본고에서는 다가올 미래에서의 인간의 몸의 가치를 올바르게 세우고 몸을 통해 미래를 살아갈 수 있는 가능성을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 역사적으로 몸이 어떠한 방식으로 인식되어 왔는지를 살펴보았다. 또한 우리 몸의 본질을 탐구하기 위해 메를로-퐁티의 몸 개념을 살핀 뒤, 이를 바탕으로 미래의 인간이 과학기술과 어떠한 방식으로 관계 맺을 수 있을지를 모색하였다. 먼저 역사적으로 몸에 부여되어 왔던 의미들을 추적함으로써 최근의 포스트휴먼 담론이 몸에 부여하는 의미들의 근원을 분석하고자 했다. 수렵채집생활을 했던 원시시대에서 인공지능 개발, 새로운 주체의 출현을 예고하는 현재까지 몸에 투영되어 온 메타포들을 추적하였다. 그 결과 몸에 대한 인식은 열등하고 저급한 것이었거나, 아니면 몸을 둘러싼 패러다임과 이데올로기에 의해 규정된 몸이었음을 발견하였다. 그러나 몸은 인간 주체의 근원이다. 따라서 몸 자체에 대한 탐구와 고찰을 위해 메를로-퐁티의 󰡔지각의 현상학󰡕을 중심으로 몸에 대해 접근하였다. 메를로-퐁티의 지각 그리고 살의 개념은 인간이 존재하고 세계를 살아가는 데 있어서의 몸의 중요성을 강조했다. 이 몸은 주변과 사회에 의해 개념적으로 구성된 몸이 아니라 주체가 세계를 살아가는 데 있어 세계를 향하고 동시에 세계를 받아들이는 실질적 존재로서의 몸이다. 동시에 변화하는 환경 속에서도 주체성을 확립하고 세상과 소통하며 적응할 수 있는 인간의 근원이기도 하다. 마지막으로 앞에서 논의한 이론들을 바탕으로 서사작품 분석을 통해 미래의 다양한 몸의 가능성을 모색하고자 했다. 분석한 작품들은 인간이 첨단과학기술과 관계하는 다양한 양상을 조명함으로써, 다가올 미래의 변화에 주체적으로 대응할 수 있는 방법들을 제시하였다. 특히 주체가 몸을 통해 기술, 환경, 타자와 소통하고 이해함으로써 보다 조화로운 공존이 가능함을 시사한다. 이는 정신, 몸, 과학, 기술, 환경 등 어느 하나를 강조하는 것이 아닌, 몸을 통해 조화를 이루며 세계를 살아가는 일의 중요성을 강조한다.
This study sought for possibilities of correctly establishing the value of a human body of the future and living the future through a body. For the purpose of this, this study inquired into how a body has been recognized in the history.Besides, the concept of body of Merleau-Ponty was examined to explore the essence of a human body. Based on this, this study intended to seek for how the future humans can establish a relationship with science and technology.In the first place, this study intended to analyze the origin of meanings given to the human body by the recent post-human discourse by tracing the meanings given to the human body throughout the history. This study traced metaphors which have been reflected onto the body, from the primitive ages of hunting and gathering to the present time of which artificial intelligence is developed and the appearance of new main agents is predicted. As a result, this study discovered that the recognition of human body has been considered inferior and vulgar or the body was defined by paradigms and ideologies surrounding the body.However, a body is the origin of human subjectivity. Therefore, this study approached the body focused on “Phenomenology of perception” of Merleau-Ponty for exploration and consideration of the body itself. Theconcept of Merleau-Ponty regarding perception and flesh put emphasis on the importance of body in the way humanity exists and leads a life in the world. When it comes to a body, it is not about a body conceptuallycomposed by the society, but a body as a substantial being moving towards the world and accepting the world at the same time. Simultaneously, it is the origin of humanity allowing the establishment of subjectivity and communication with the world while adapting to the world even in the middle of the changing environment. In the last place, this study intended to seek for diverse possibilities of the body by analyzing narrative works based on the theories discussed above. The analyzed works proposed methods of autonomous responses tothe future changes, by illuminating a variety of aspects of how humans correlate with the cutting-edge science and technology. In particular, this study implies that there is the possibility of a more harmonious coexistence since the main agent can communicate with technology, environment and others and understand them through the body. This emphasizes the importance of leading a harmonious life in the world through the body, and not underlining only one element among mind, body, science, technology and environment.
