The purpose of this study was to develop personality dimension scale of adolescent based on the enneagram personality concept and to investigate the relationships between types of lifestyle and coping attitude. Findings of this study provide information and knowledge base for the personality dimension scale of adolescent and for the development of services and programs that could enhance lifestyle and coping attitude with personality dimension. Data were collected using questionnaire from adolescents living in nationwide from July 2016 to November 2018. The questionnaire consisted of items which reflect enneagram personality dimension of adolescent, lifestyle, and copying attitude, social demography characteristics. For the analysis, total 3,383 sample data were applied. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS/PC program. The data analysis applied in this study is as follows. Factor analysis was applied to identify the dimension of personality. Then, several regression analyses were conducted. In the regression analysis, dependent variable was lifestyle and copying attitude. As a result of applying the factor analysis to find out the personality dimensions, it was structured into nine dimensions, and was understood that 64.01% of the total variance was explained. Considering the characteristics of each factor, factor 1 is ideal reform dimension, factor 2 is emotional aid dimension, 3 is efficient accomplishment dimension, factor 4 is personal art dimension, and factor 5 is speculative quest dimension. Factor 6 is dependent loyalty dimension, factor 7 can be regarded as a optimistic universal dimension, factor 8 is heroic leader, and factor 9 represents a dimension of mandate intervention.Regression analysis was used to verify the relationship between personality dimension and lifestyle and coping attitude. Results of the analysis showed that the dimension of empathic aids had a significant relationship with the type of sexual instinct partner and the type of social instinct group. The type of personal achievement has a positive relationship with the type of self–instinct and reactive coping attitude. The personal art and the speculative quest dimensions have a positive relationship with the rational coping attitude. The dependent loyalty dimension is negatively related with the type of social instinct group, but is positively related with the type of rational copying attitude. The dimension of mandate intervention is negatively related with the type of self–instinct, but the dimension is positively related with the type of social instinct group. According to the results of this study, individuals' lifestyle and coping attitude type could be predicted based on the nature of personality dimension because lifestyle and copying attitude are different according to the personality dimension. The findings of this study suggest that a single personality factor is also divided into various sub-factors based on the level of each personality characteristics. Also the interrelationship among the single personality factors should be considered in order to understand the nature of personality dimension. The findings show that identifying the personality dimension of adolescents can predict their lifestyle and coping attitude. Based on the findings, this study suggests that the dimension of personality should be identified in order to understand the problem behaviors related to lifestyle and coping attitude types in counseling and therapy clinic for adolescents. In addition, by identifying the causal relationship between personality dimension, lifestyle, and coping attitude types, it could be possible to develop and expand lifestyle and coping attitude types according to personality dimension of youth. Also, it can be used widely in personality psychology of adolescents, clinical field, and social welfare practice field by suggesting interrelationship between personality dimension and related factors.Key words : adolescent enneagram, personality dimension, lifestyle, coping attitude
본 연구에서는 전국의 3,383명의 청소년을 대상으로 에니어그램 성격차원 척도를 개발하고 각 차원이 생활태도 및 대처방식과 어떤 관계가 있는지를 분석하였다. 분석과정은 다음과 같다. 먼저 요인분석을 통해 9개의 단일성격 하부요인을 알아본 후, 하부요인들을 모두 투입하여 성격차원을 규명하였다. 그리고 회귀분석을 적용하여 성격차원과 생활태도 및 대처방식이 어떤 관계가 있는지를 분석하였다. 회귀분석에서 종속변수는 생활태도와 대처방식이며 독립변수는 성격차원이다. 생활태도는 자기본능 셀프형, 성적본능 파트너형, 사회본능 그룹형을 포함하고 있다. 그리고 대처방식은 긍정적 대처, 이성적 대처, 반응적 대처로 구분된다. 성격차원을 알아보기 위해 요인분석을 적용한 결과, 9개의 구조화로 나타났으며 전체 분산의 64.01%를 설명하는 것으로 파악되었다. 차원별 특성을 고려하면 요인 1은 이상적 개혁 차원, 요인 2는 공감적 조력 차원, 요인 3은 효율적 성취 차원, 요인 4는 개인적 예술 차원, 요인 5는 사색적 탐구 차원, 6은 의존적 충성 차원, 요인 7은 낙천적 만능 차원, 요인 8은 영웅적 지도 차원, 요인 9는 위임적 중재 차원을 나타낸다. 성격차원과 생활태도 및 대처방식 간의 관계를 검증하기 위해 회귀분석을 적용한 결과, 변수 간에 인과관계가 있는 것으로 규명되었다. 분석결과를 살펴보면, 공감적 조력 차원은 성적본능 파트너형 및 사회본능 그룹형과 유의한 관계가 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 효율적 성취 차원은 자기본능 셀프형 및 반응적 대처와 정적 관계가 있다. 개인적 예술과 사색적 탐구 차원은 이성적 대처방식과 정적 관계가 있으며, 의존적 충성 차원은 긍정적 대처와 정적 관계가 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 낙천적 만능 차원은 사회본능 그룹형과는 부적 관계가 있으나 이성적 대처와는 정적 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 영웅적 지도 차원은 자기보존 셀프형과 사회본능 그룹형과는 부적 관계가 있으나 반응적 대처와는 정적 관계가 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 위임적 중재 차원은 자기본능 셀프형과는 부적 관계가 있으나 사회본능 그룹형과는 정적 관계가 있다. 분석결과를 종합해 보면, 성격차원에 따라 생활태도와 대처방식이 다르므로 성격차원의 속성 및 본질을 토대로 개인의 생활태도와 대처방식을 예측할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 단일 성격요인도 속성의 특성과 수준에 따라 하부요인으로 구분된다는 것과 청소년 성격차원을 파악하기 위해서 단일 성격요인의 하부요인들이 어떻게 상호작용하는지를 고려해야 한다는 것을 말해 준다. 그리고 청소년의 성격차원을 알면 이들의 생활태도 및 대처방식도 예측할 수 있다는 것을 보여준다. 이러한 연구결과는 청소년을 대상으로 한 상담 및 임상에서 생활태도나 대처방식과 관련된 문제행동을 교정하기 위해서는 이들의 성격차원부터 파악해야 한다는 것을 시사한다. 또한, 성격차원과 생활태도 및 대처방식과의 인과관계를 규명함으로써 청소년의 성격차원에 부합되는 생활태도와 대처방식을 개발 및 확대할 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 성격과 이를 구성하는 요인 간의 상호관련성을 제시함으로써 청소년 상담, 성격심리 및 임상 분야와 사회복지실천 현장에서 폭넓게 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 주제어: 청소년 에니어그램, 성격차원, 생활태도, 대처방식
