Abstract
Carbon coated LiMxFe1-xPO4( M = Ni, Ti ) were synthesized by modified solid state reaction which is very attractive for coating the particle with carbon without any procedure. The crystal characterizations of samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, which show LiMxFe1-xPO4( M = Ni ) were indexed well on the basis of an olivine structure of space group of Pnma. In case of M = Ti, even if most of peaks were indexed on olivine structure, some impurity peaks are founded and identified as Li3Fe2(PO4)3, LiFe2(PO4)3 and TiO2. The samples show excellent cycle retentions and especially, excellent high rate performances at 5C compared with carbon coated LiFePO4. It could be explained to high electronic conductivity and ionic conductivity by doping and being impurities assisting in migration of Li ion.
