본 연구는 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여와 유아의 사회성간의관계를 연구하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하여 확인하였다. 첫째, 어머니와 유아의 배경 변인(성, 연령, 학력, 직업유무)에 따라 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여, 유아 사회성의 차이가 있는가?둘째, 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여, 유아 사회성의 상관관계는 어떠한가?연구대상은 경기도에 소재한 유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 3세, 4세, 5세 유아 160명과 그들의 어머니를 대상으로 하였다. 어머니의 성격유형을 측정하기 위해 성격 5요인 검사로 60문항으로 구성된 간편 NEO 인성검사를 사용하였고 어머니의 놀이참여 정도를 측정하기 위해 원희영(1997)이 제작한 검사지를 사용하였으며 유아의 사회성을 측정하기 위해 이은정(2004)이 만3세～만5세를 대상으로 개발한 유아 사회성 발달 측정도구를 사용하였다.본 연구에서 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.1 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 사용한 통계방법은 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여와 유아 사회성의 상관관계를 확인하기 위하여 Pearson의 상관계수를 산출하였고 유아의 성, 연령, 어머니의 연령, 학력, 직업유무에 따른 어머니의 성격유형과 놀이참여 정도에 따라 유아의 사회성에 차이가 있는지를 확인하기위해서 t-test와 ANOVA를 실시하였다.본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여, 유아 사회성은 유의하지 않게 나타나지 않았다.둘째, 어머니의 놀이참여와 유아 사회성에서는 유아의 연령별로는 차이가 없었고, 어머니의 성격유형의 하위요인 중 외향성에서 그 차이가 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 놀이참여의 하위요인인 구성놀이는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났으나 세부집단별 차이는 나타나지 않았다.넷째, 어머니의 학력별 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여, 유아 사회성의 차이는 모든 하위 요인에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 다섯째, 어머니의 성격유형 중 개방성과 어머니의 놀이참여 중 구성놀이에서 어머니는 직업이 있는 경우에 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 여섯째, 유아의 사회성은 어머니의 성격유형 중 외향성과 어머니의 놀이참여 중 기능놀이와 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 연구결과를 종합하면 유아의 연령이 많아질수록 유아의 사회성에 영향을 주고 직업을 가지고 있는 어머니는 성격유형 중 개방성과 놀이참여 중 구성놀이와 관련이 있으며 어머니의 연령 또한 어머니의 놀이참여 중 구성놀이와 관련이 있다. 또한 어머니의 외향적인 성격과 어머니의 기능놀이는 유아의 사회성에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.본 연구결과를 통해 유아의 어머니의 변인에 따른 유아의 사회성과 어머니의 성격유형 및 놀이참여간의 관계를 인식하고 유아의 사회성 향상을 위해 가정과 기관에서 효과적으로 지도하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.핵심어: 성격유형, 놀이참여, 사회성
The purpose of this research was to find the relationship between mothers' personality type, play participation and children's sociality. This research covered the following specific research topics.First, the differences in mothers' personality type, play participation and children's sociality were evaluated according to factors such as sex, age, academic career and job status.Second, the relations among mothers' personality type, play participation and children's sociality were determined. A total of 160 children at two daycare centers and kindergarten located in Gyeonggido with their mothers were surveyed in this study. As a research instrument for mothers' personality type, a simple NEO personality test containing five factors with sixty questions was used. Test sheet made by Heeyoung Won(1997) was used to evalute the degree of mothers' play participation. Sociality growth evaluation instrument for three to five years old children developed by Eunjung Lee(2004) was used.Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 20.1. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to identify the relationship between mothers' personality type, mothers' play participation and children's sociality. T-test and ANOVA were used to determine differences in mothers' personality type and mothers' play participation degree followed by children's sex, children's age, mothers' age, mothers' academic career, mothers' job status.Results are shown in the following: First, correlations among mothers' personality type, mothers' play participation, children's sociality were negligible.Second. mothers' play participation and children's sociality were not statistically related to children's age or the extroversion of mothers' personality type.Third, constructive play with mothers' play participation was statistically related to mothers' age with differences among specific groups.Fourth, whole of under positioned factors of mothers' academic career were not statistically related to mothers' personality type, mothers' play participation or children's sociality.Fifth, in the openness under the mothers' personality type and the constructive play under the mothers' play participation, the differences were identified when the mother have their own jobs. Sixth, children's sociality and extroversion under mothers' personality type had the highest correlation coefficient among mothers' personality types. Functional play under mothers' play participation had the highest correlation among mothers' play participation. In summary, as children get older, extroversion of mothers' personality type affect more on children's sociality. In addition, the existence of mothers' job affect the openness in mothers' personality type and constructive play under the mothers' play participation. The age of the mother is related to the construcive play under mothers' play participation. Moreover, extroversion in the mothers' personality and functional play under the mothers' play participation can affect children's sociality.These results can be utilized to effectively teach family and children to improve children's sociality by recognizing the relationship between mothers' background and children's sociality and the relationship between mothers' personality and mothers' play participation.
