Abstract
The risk factors are identified by determining the risk of construction materials according to the classification and structures of buildings, and the distribution of materials containing asbestos according to the classification and forms of buildings in Busan and Gyeongnam are grasped, and, also, buildings in the forms of high risk out of buildings in the areas are discovered. It is necessary to prepare the history of materials concerning materials containing asbestos by identifying risk factors relative to asbestos in buildings according to the forms and structures of buildings, and to conduct regular repair and maintenance with regard to asbestos. This study conducted a prior investigation of asbestos in 111 places of Busan and Gyeongnam, and collected and analyzed 331 bulk samples. Out of those 111 places, 77 places used ACM (Asbestos Containing Materials) whereas 47 places didn’t use PACM (Presumed Asbestos Containing Materials). The frequency (distribution) of construction materials containing asbestos according to the classification of buildings aimed at 111 places subjected to this research, 20 houses (83%), commercial buildings (70%), 22 factories and office buildings (60%), 13 public institutions (65%), 50 ferroconcretes (69%), prefabricated panels (67%), brick masonry bearing walls (73%), and multi-purpose structures (63%). Out of 331 PACM samples, 188 samples (57%) were confirmed to have ACM.
