It has been sixty years since documentary broadcasted via TV. Now information and creativity is more and more valued, therefore, people’s demand for documentary is stronger and stronger. This study is based on current theory, comparatively analysis the difference between the Korean and Chinese college students in motive of watching documentary, and why the plenty of motives exist, in order to find out why they do not watch documentary via TV often.Considering the content above, together with the substance and feature of subjects, this paper gain related data through questionnaire based on Quantitative research methodology, the conclusion was got analysised by SPSS.The research of this study conclude perspects below.First, does there any difference exist between Korean and Chinese college students in motive of watching documentary on TV?Second, does there any difference exist between Korean and Chinese college students in satisfaction of watching documentary on TV?Third, does there any difference exist in motive in watching different documentary on TV about Korean and Chinese college students?Forth, does there any difference exist between Korean and Chinese college students why they do not watch documentary on TV?Last but not the least, what difference will it make in watching documentary on TV condidering different features of subjects ?It comes out that it is the Information incentive that makes the difference in motive about watching documentary between Korean and Chinese college students. That’s to say , more information was got by Korean college students, while , Chinese college students consider the documentary as entertainment.
