Abstract
Associated Factors of Funduscopy in Diabetes Patients Aged 65 and Over Jeong-Hwa Jo Department of Public Health, Graduate School Chungnam National University Daejeon, Korea (Supervised by Professor Ju-Mi Lee) Purpose: This study identified factors of funduscopy in diabetes patients aged 65 and over. Research methods: Based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted from 2017 to 2021. HbA1c, age, education level, diabetes treatment status, walking frequency, and family history of siblings are confirmed associated factors. * A thesis submitted to the committee of Graduate School of Public Health, Chungnam National University in a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Public Health conferred in February 2024. Results: The results of this study increased the screening rate by considering socio-demographic characteristics in addition to diagnosis-related factors in the management of diabetes complications, and established an evidence base for early detection and management of complications. Conclusion: The higher the level of education, the more cooperative the attitude toward getting the fundascopy. Accordingly, we need to devise a method so that subjects with low levels of education can receive the fundascopy well.
