Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of therapeutic interventions on damaged nails on the biomechanical and morphological properties of the nail plate. Ten adult females with damaged nails among subjects without orthopedic or dermatological diseases and no deformities or contractures on their nails were intensively treated for nail care, once a week, a total of 4 times for one month. To understand the biomechanical and morphological changes of the nail plate before and after nail care, length, width, water content, and hardness were measured. As a result of comparing the changes in the length, width, water content, and hardness of the nail plate before and after nail care within and between groups, the significance level was 0.05, which was statistically significant. This study suggests that if nail care is continued in the future, the length, moisture, and hardness of the nail plate may increase, and the width may decrease, and damaged nails can be improved healthily. We suggests that the nail care have an positive effectson biomechanical and preperties in individual with impaired nail.
