본 연구는 성별과 언론보도 프레임에 따라 디지털 성범죄에 대한 인식에 차이가 있는지 살펴보고, 이에 따른 디지털 성범죄 두려움에 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 20세 이상의 성인을 대상으로 설문이 진행되었고, 총 160명(남성 57명, 여성 103명)의 응답을 바탕으로 최종 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 2(성별: 남성, 여성) x 2(언론보도 프레임: 일화적, 주제적)의 참가자 간 설계로 연구 참여자들은 2가지 조건 중 하나에 무선으로 할당되었고, 디지털 성범죄를 다룬 보도기사를 읽은 뒤, 주어진 문항에 응답하였다. 연구 결과, 디지털 성범죄에 대한 인식과 범죄 두려움에 있어서 언론보도 프레임에 따른 차이는 유의미하게 나타나지 않았다. 디지털 성범죄 인식과 범죄 두려움에 대한 성별과 언론보도 프레임의 상호작용 효과 역시 유의미하지 않았다. 그러나, 성별의 효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났고, 체감 범죄율과 범죄 피해 가능성에 대한 평가가 이를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 의의와 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.
This study tried to see if there are differences in the perception of digital sexual crime according to gender and media frame, and whether there was a difference in the fear of digital sexual crime accordingly. In this study, a survey was conducted on adults aged 20 or older, and a total of 160 (57 men and 103 women) participants were included in the final analysis. This study used a 2 (gender: male, female) x 2 (media frame: episodic, thematic) between-subjects design, and the participants were randomly assigned to one of the two conditions. They read a image reporting on digital sexual crime, and answered a set of questions. As a result of the study, there was no significant difference in the perception of digital sexual crime and fear of crime according to the media frame. The interaction effect of gender and media frame on perception and fear of digital sexual crime was also not significant. However, the effect of gender was found to be significant, and the evaluation of the perceived crime rate and the possibility of crime damage was found to mediate this. Finally, I discussed about the significance and limitations of this study.
