Frequency-Band Design and Parameter Optimization of MCRWPT System Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

Abstract
Frequency-band is an important parameter for magnetic coupling resonant wireless power transmission (MCRWPT), including central frequencies and bandwidths. Owing to the limitations of the engineering experience, the traditional design methods of frequency-band focus only on the central frequencies. This study proposes a novel particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based MCRWPT system design method and aims to obtain specific frequency-band. The modal analysis theory is used to derive the model of MCRWPT system. An optimal fitness function consists of central frequencies, bandwidths and maximum power is proposed in this method. A group of weights is given to normalize the fitness function. An adaptive factor, varying with the position of particles, is proposed to improve the convergence of PSO. The analysis of probability density function is made to verify the convergence of PSO. Theoretical and experimental results show that the MCRWPT system designed by this method can operate at a specific combination of central frequencies, bandwidths and maximum power. The experiments and analysis of parameters dependence are made to give guidance for further adjustments. According to the analysis of parameters dependence, the frequency-band is strongly coupled with electrical parameters. Compared with the traditional method, the pro-posed method can design the bandwidth precisely, and the error of the design in the case of this paper is no more than 3%.
