Four Cases of Successfully Treated Chronic Expanding Soft Tissue Hematoma

Abstract
Chronic expanding hematoma (CEH) is a rare, slow- developingdisease that occurs months to years after trauma orsurgery. Most CEH in soft tissue occurs in the thigh or upperextremities and can occur with or without an induciblecause. Ninety-one cases of CEH in soft tissue have beenreported previously in the Japanese and English literature butits occurrence on the sole has not been reported. Here, wereport four cases of successfully treated CEH, including acase occurring on the sole, and provide a review of theliterature.
