Abstract
Shortly after the Imjin War, the Joseon Dynasty enforced land survey. The Gyemyo land survey had many problems. These problems affected the operation of the Daedong Law of Gangwon-do in the 4th year of King Injo(1623). Unlike the Daedong law in Chungcheong-do, Gyeongsang-do, Jeolla-do, the Daedong law of Gangwon-do had a tax amount of 16 du(斗). It also lacked consideration for local finances. The operation method of the Gangwon Daedong Law became controversial when the Daedong Law was expanded to the Chungcheong-do, Gyeongsang-do, Jeolla-do. To resolve this problem, the need to enforce land survey was raised. These attempts began in earnest in the 34th year of King Sukjong (1708) with the implementation of the Gichuk land survey. After the implementation of Gichuk land survey, the operation method of the Daedong Law in Gangwon-do was partially modified. The amount of tax was adjusted to 12, 14, and 16 duchesses. However, consideration of local finances was still insufficient.
