Abstract
In this study, various angles of motion (30°, 50°, 70°) in three ranges of 1RM (A;30-50%, B;50-70%, C;70-90%) during external rotation resistance exercise was applied on the infraspinatus muscle to determine the change of electromyography. The participants of this study were 15 male adults living in Incheon. Pulley system was used and the results were derived by repeated measurements of groups that are classified by ranges. First, there was a significant time difference and interaction of 1RM in group B and C at the angle of 30° shoulder external rotation resistance exercise. Second, at the angle of 50° shoulder external rotation resistance exercise, there were significant differences in intergroup, time period, and interaction of 1RM in group A, B, C. Third, at the angle of 70° shoulder external rotation resistance exercise, there were significant time difference of 1RM in group B and C. There was a significant time difference in all groups regardless of angle of the shoulder external rotation resistance exercise. However, the significant intergroup difference was seen at the range of 50°. This showed 50° is the most ideal angle for 1RM resistance and is onsidered to be the most ideal angle for effective resistance exercise on the infraspinatus muscle. Therefore, it is believed that effective muscle improvement and selective shoulder therapy for improvement of the shoulder joint instability can be applied if exercise is carried out at 50° resistance angle of 1RM.
