할리우드 스릴러 영화의 음악적 특징에 관한 연구가 필요한 이유 중 하나는 이런 스릴러 영화에서 음악이 긴장과 서스펜스를 생성하고 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 하기 때문이다. 영화에서 음악은 관객과감정적인 연결을 만들고 장면의 분위기를 고조시키는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 관객이 영화 내내 몰입할수 있도록 긴장되고 스릴 넘치는 분위기를 조성하는데 필수적이다. 음악을 분석함으로써 우리는 영화 제작자들이 사운드를 사용하여 우리의 감정을 조작하고 기대와 두려움을 조성하는 방법에 대한 통찰력을 얻을 수 있다. 또한 할리우드 스릴러 영화의 음악적특성을 연구하면 이러한 영화가 문화적, 역사적 맥락을 어떻게 반영하고 대응하는지 이해하는 데 도움이될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 할리우드 스릴러 영화의 음악적 특징에 관한 연구를 하기 위해 해외 영화제에서 음악상을 수상한 영화들 중 영화사적으로 가치가 있는영화들을 위주로 시대를 고르게 골라 각 영화의 스릴러 재현 양상과 음악을 분석했다. 각 영화마다 스릴러의 하위 장르에 따라 음악의 특징이 달라지긴하지만 관습적인 요소들도 많이 나타났다
One of the reasons why a study on the musical characteristics of Hollywood thriller films is necessary is that music plays an important role in creating and maintaining tension and suspense in these thriller films. In film, music plays an important role in creating an emtional connection with the audience and heightening the mood of a scene. It is essential for creating a tense and thrilling atmosphere that keeps the audience immersed throughout the film. By analyzing music, we can gain insight into how filmmakers use sound to manipulate our emotions and create expectations and fears. Additionally, studying the musical characteristics of Hollywood thriller films can help us understand how these films reflect and respond to their cultural and historical context. In this study, in order to study the musical characteristics of Hollywood thriller films, among the films that have won music awards at overseas film festivals, films with value in film history were selected evenly from the period and analyzed the thriller reproduction pattern and music of each film.
