중증 사지마비인을 위한 3D 스캐닝 및 프린트 제작기술을 활용한 맞춤형 론볼 손보조기의 적용 – 예비연구

Abstract
In this study, quadriplegic people wore hand orthoses made with 3-dimensional(3D) scanning and printing technology and participated in lawn ball to achieve social participation and integration. A total of five people were recruited, of which three participated until the production of final orthoses. Each of them was a quadriplegic patient with C5, C6 and C7 level injuries, respectively. To design the lawn ball hand orthoses, it was necessary to obtain information on the patient’s hand and forearm with a 3D scanner. However, since it was difficult to maintain the posture due to the weakness of the participants, a cast was made and the information was scanned from the cast. The orthosis was designed based on the scanned data. The primary orthosis was made of PLA(Polylatic acid) material using a 3D printer, and the secondary orthosis was manufactured with TPU(Thermoplastic Polyurethane) using a 3D printer following feedback from participants. After one month of 3D printed orthosis usage, 20 questionnaires were evaluated to collect data regarding the user experience and satisfaction before and after use. We have made customized, light and comfortable hand orthoses using 3D technology. Based on the data collected from the questionnaires, we observed a continuous rise in the feeling of use and satisfaction with the final 3D orthoses. Through this study, the customized 3D printed hand orthoses were helpful for individuals with disabilities to participate in sports.
본 연구에서는 중증 사지마비 환자들을 대상으로 3차원(3D) 스캐닝 및 프린팅 기술로 제작된 맞춤형 손 보조기를 착용하고 론볼 스포츠에 참여하여 사회적 참여와 통합을 가능하게 하였다. 모집기간 중 5명으로 시작하였으나 최종적으로 3명이 참여하였고, 경수 5, 6 및 7번 손상을 입은 사지마비 환자들이다. 환자의 근력 약화로 손과 전완의 스캔이 불가하여 보조기 제작기술인 석고로 본을 뜬 후 이를 스캔하고, 이 데이터를 기반으로 3D 프린터로 보조기를 출력하였다. 1차 보조기는 PLA(Polylactic acid)소재로 제작되었으며, 2차 보조기는 참가자들의 피드백을 받은 후 TPU(Thermoplastic Polyurethane)로 제작되었다. 본 연구의 3D 스캐닝 및 프린팅 기술을 통해 중증장애인의 맞춤형 론볼, 손보조기를 제작하여 장애인의 스포츠 참여를 유도하고, 이를 통해 장애인의 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
