Abstract
A 43-year-old woman developed an asymptomatic subcutaneous tumor on her right vulva one year previously. On her initial presentation to our clinic, she had a well-defined, solid and soft subcutaneous tumor 40×20 mm in size on the right vulval area. Histologically the tumor was delineated with thin fibrous tissue in the dermis and subcutis, and was composed of alternating hypocellular and hypercellular areas and numerous thin-walled small blood vessels, while, in addition, spindle or oval stromal cells were dispersed in the edematous area. Immunohistochemically the stromal cells showed positivity for vimentin, desmin and α-smooth muscle actin. As a result, a diagnosis of angiomyofibroblastoma was made. No recurrence has been observed in the 3 months after surgery.
