Abstract
The cryogenic tensile properties of carbon nanotube (CNT) / poly-dicyclopentadiene (poly-DCPD) composites has been investigated experimentally. Tensile tests were carried out with flat tensile specimens at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature (77K). The effects of temperature and CNT volume fraction on the tensile properties of CNT/poly-DCPD composites were discussed. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was also used to study the fracture surfaces of CNT/poly-DCPD composites. It was shown that tensile properties of poly-DCPD with CNT are related to the morphology of CNT distributed in the poly-DCPD.
