Effects of Medications Involved in Constipation on the Severity of Colonic Diverticulitis / 便秘に関与する薬剤が大腸憩室炎の重症度に及ぼす影響

Abstract
Results: Multivariate analysis showed that psychotropic drugs were the factor that increased complicated diverticulitis (odds ratio 6.55, 95% confidence interval 1.84-23.40), and laxatives were the factor that decreased complicated diverticulitis (odds ratio 0.12, 95% confidence interval 0.04-0.41). The combined use of psychotropic drugs and laxatives reduced the incidence of complicated diverticulitis from 77.8% to 44.0% compared to non-combination (P＝0.034). Among laxatives, the incidence of complicated diverticulitis decreased when probiotics were used in combination (P＝0.025).
