Abstract
A 53-year-old man, with liver cirrhosis, was brought to our emergency department by ambulance because of painful, right lower-leg abrasions that caused by a rock in seawater. He was diagnosed septic shock due to right lower limb soft tissue infection caused by vibrio vulnificus. He received vasopressor support, intubation, mechanical ventilation and antibiotics. Then, he liberated from shock and invasive mechanical ventilation. The wound was washed daily, but necrosis around the wound progressed, and finally, a right femoral amputation was performed. He transferred hospitals in order to receive an artificial leg and undergo rehabilitation.
