Abstract
The effect of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) on the molecular aggregation states of poly(perfluoroalkyl acrylate) (PFA-C8) brushes prepared by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization was studied. In-situ neutron reflectivity showed that a brush film swollen more than twice even at the moderate conditions (T=36C and P=13.0MPa). Molecular aggregation states of the PFA-C8 brush films before and after exposure to scCO2 were analyzed by using grazing incidence X-ray diffraction.
