Abstract
The effect of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) on molecular aggregation states of poly(perfluoroalkyl acrylate) (PFA) brushes prepared by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization was studied. In-situ neutron reflectivity showed that a brush film with ca. 60 nm thickness swollen more than twice even at the moderate conditions. In addition, the PFA brush films before and after exposure to scCO2 were analyzed by using grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and X-ray reflectivity.
