Dr. Maja Mockenhaupt, MD, PhD, went to medical school at the University of Giessen, Germany, and started her work on severe cutaneous adverse reactions in 1990 as a research fellow at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Freiburg, Germany. She was involved in various epidemiologic studies in this field, e.g. SCAR and EuroSCAR, both large scale case-control studies, as well as the ongoing RegiSCAR-project and the German Registry of severe skin reactions. After her PhD in dermatology in 2007 she received a personal grant for clinical research by Else Kroener-Fresenius-Foundation.
