Abstract
Porous asphalt has been entirely covered on Tomei Expressway since 1998. Rainfall water has so far immersed into underlying binder layers, making its road operators long concerned about the AC layers' damages being propagated. In order to evaluate soundness of the pavement, road surface characteristics survey and FWD's measurement has periodically been conducted. Based on those results, the structural distress including subgrade condition is presented. Problematic issues on the current procedures of crack survey, repair methods and others are also suggested in the paper.
